Christmas Tree Lane

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

This last Wednesday, we walked Christmas Tree lane in Fresno with the Aaron, Laura and Paige Panfilio, it was very cold but really cool to see all of the lights and even SANTA!!

Here are Marty and Paige all bundled up to meet Santa.

Marty enjoyed the lights, just staring at them and hanging out. He loves being in the backpack, especially when Daddy is wearing it, he bounces when he walks!
As you can see it just lulls him to sleep.

We are so excited to see everyone this coming weekend, well late tonight!!! We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a New Year that will be filled with as much joy, love and excitement that 2008 has brougth us. Big Hugs to everyone!!

Happy Turkey Day!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We spent most of the day with George at the fire station. The guys made a great meal and I know Marty enjoyed it. He had a tray full of potatoes, squash and some turkey!! His first meat! He did great just hanging out with all the guys and truly made this thanksgiving a memorable one. We can't believe how big he has gotten and how much he is moving and grooving. He can get up on his hands and knees, then he just kinda rocks there back and forth. Give him a few more days and he will have figured out how to get moving.
We love you all and look forward to seeing you soon and getting to celebrate Marty's 1st Christmas!!

Here are a few shots of Marty getting his grub on at the fire station. It's he cute!!!

Today Marty is 7 months old and he has grown so much, he is 27 1/4 inches talk and just over 17 lbs.
He has 4 teeth (2 top, 2 bottom), is getting better at crawling every day and is talking more and more.
We are looking forward to his first Thanksgiving and Christmas it is going to be a blast.

We have heard back from the seller and now we are just waiting on the banks!!! Hopefully, if it all works out we will be in our first Home before New Years!!!

We love you all and look forward to seeing you all soon!!!

I am Marty! Hear Me Roar!!!

I know finally!! We are so happy that we are able to share pictures of our Costume Party from our last visit home. Marty was an awesome monkey, we were really glad that he was so chill in his costume and of course so freakin cute!! George and I were jungle people to keep the whole theme going.

I think Grandma and Grandpa D had the most fun with their costumes, I know I had a blast shopping for my moms with her.
Uncle Don will really have to be committed now!! What an amazing time to live in, I can not wait to see the changes that are in store for us!!

Uncle Nicky Moon and Auntie Kaleigh looked great for just driving in from school for the party.

Uncle Tony and Melanie wised up for the night.

Even Great-Grandma and Grandpa clowned around a little.

It is so amazing how much Marty has grown. Not only does he have 2 and 1/4 teeth (the top right has broken the skin!!), but he is moving forward in a meaningful way. It is kinda like an army crawl but it is definitely forward propulsion. He has mastered the 360, with his arms and legs flailing like a beached fish. I really am amazed every time I spend time with him.
Still waiting to hear from the bank on our offer, but we have heard encouraging news from the sellers agent that at least the seller will accept our offer. One hurdle down now just the steeple chase size ones to go.

We loved seeing everyone and can't wait to do it again.

6 Months Already!!!!!

Half a year old can you believe it!!!

It seems like time is just flying by. Marty is 17.5 lbs and stands a whopping 27 inches tall. He has ONE tooth on the bottom left and he look so cute when the smiles with it. He is talking more, ga's and go's and all types of noises. Laughing and smiling it is all pretty amazing.

He is eating a lot as well. Carrots, Applesauce, Peas, Green beans, Oatmeal, and his favorite Butternut Squash.

He still loves paper, eating it, slimming it, tearing it, and pretty must just going to town on destroying it. His feet are a huge fascination as well, George taught him to chew on his toes and it happens every time we change his diaper (which is soooo much fun now that he is eating so many solids).

His hair is getting lighter and longer and there just seems to be more of it, which is fun in the bath tub because Mom and Dad get to make some pretty sweet hair dos.

The Mohawk

The Greaser (with lip snarl and everything)

We also get to sit up and enjoy a little of Daddy's favorite thing, the RED SOX!!!!!

As part of how great dad is, he surprised Mommy with a photo shoot so we could have our first set of family photos.
Here is the link, so those of you who would like can go and order prints or just check them out.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone next week to celebrate Grandma Collins, Auntie Lori, Nana's and Mommy's birthday as well as Nana and Popa's 30th Wedding Anniversary. We miss you all but have enjoyed the time we can see each other on Skype. It is a true awesome program, if you don't have it, get it. All you need is a computer, a webcam and the time.

We love you all and can't wait to see you

Fun time with Daddy

Here are some great pics from George's phone. He has been hanging with the little man while I have been at my internship, class and for the shift I have picked up at Bullard. I am glad that they are getting some quality dude time. We love you all. Hope to see you soon. XOXO

5 months old!!! Can you believe it!!!

Well we have survived the summer and the majority of the heat here in Fresno. Thank goodness. But I know you are all here to see and hear how our not so little man is doing.

He is 17 lbs and 26 inches tall. Sleeping through the night (the greatest thing since AC) and overall a great kid. He has been teething for the past month and that is not so much fun.

As you can see in his 5 month picture, he loves paper. If you put any kind of paper (magazines, newspaper, ads, mail, you name it) he grabs it, munches it up and then tries to eat it. So taking the cute pic with the month page is getting tricky.

He loves bath time, splashing all the water out of the tub and just being goofy. He also loves his robe from Auntie Kaleigh and Uncle Nick.

When Grandma and Grandpa came to visit in September, we hung out on Tuesday night while Mommy was at school. I am a bonafide California Boy, I love me some avocado.

You will love me when I eat avocado.

We started to put him to bed and when he walks up in the middle of the night giving him a pacifier (what! you say) and he actually takes it. It just started off as a nap and bedtime habit and now he is taking one during the day. He does chew on them often and I have noticed it has helped with his teething.

As for George and I, we are doing well. George will be moving to Station 21a, with in a few weeks. I think he will enjoy it out there, his crew should be fun. I have started back at school and it is going well. I am also started my internship for my Master's it sounds like it will be a great experience. I had also decided to work one day a week at Bullard. We are busy but we are still having a blast. We have put in an offer on an awesome home and are still waiting to hear back. This has not stopped us from looking but we have not found another one we like as much.

We look forward to seeing you all soon, hopefully we will find a weekend to come down and visit.
XOXO

4 months and still growning

Marty is 4 months old now and is regularly mistaken for a much older baby. That might have something to do with the fact that he is 17 lbs and 26.5 inches long!!!! I know he is a chunky monkey. Wearing mostly 3-6 months and slowly growing out of his 3 month clothes.

It is amazing how much he is doing now. He can roll himself on to his stomach, but is still having trouble getting back. He is kinda like a turtle. He is very chatty as well, although he does have a tendency to talk with his hands in his mouth. Soon he will get the whole fist in his mouth, and we won't be surprised.

Marty has started to eat rice cereal at night, and it is pretty funny to watch. But we still have not figured out the video thing so you will just have to wait to watch.

We are still house hunting and have found a few that we really like and are hoping to move forward soon. And I am going back to school at the end of the month. George is doing well, just working and cutting him self on his knife. He is fine just a little special.

Here are some of our favorite pictures for the last month.

Nursing covers

When I was pregnant with Marty I knew I was going to be breastfeeding but did not want to be stuck inside or be forced to run home every time he needed to eat. I knew I could use a blanket to cover us both, but as any breastfeeding mother will tell you getting him latched on required my full attention. So instead of hiding out at home or under a hot blanket, I decided to make a nursing cover. I know that I am not the only nursing mother out there and I wanted to share what I have found to be a god-send with others. If you know of anyone who just had a baby or is going to soon and would like to give her a gift, please contact me.

If you aren't familiar with the idea here is a picture of Marty and myself at breakfast with my grandparents.

Family, Friends and Baseball

A few weekends ago we drove down to my parents to show off Marty to both friends and family. We also got to take Marty to his first Red Sox game at Angel's Stadium. I know his dad enjoyed it, but the fans were so loud that Marty kept getting scared and spent most of the game hiding out under his nursing cover hanging on to my boob for dear life. Nana got a really cute picture looking down into the cover.

That weekend George and I got our first night out since Marty was born. My parents sent us to this amazing restaurant called Mario's Place in Riverside (if you like Italian and are in the area hit this place up). They had live Jazz, which was the perfect end to a great dinner.

On Sunday, my parents threw a family get together, with BBQ, drinks, pool time and a jewelry party. It was pretty cool, it is like Avon or Mary Kay but Jewelry. Very nice pieces.

Here are some pictures of that party, Enjoy!

Da da da DAAAAA!

Hello Everyone!!
It is I, Captain Adorable!
I am here to brighten your day!!

Today Marty is 3 months old!! He is 14.5 lbs and 24.5 inches long.
I know I can't believe it either. It seems like only yesterday that I was calling George at work, telling him to get home as fast as he can. But at the same time it is so hard to remember our lives before him. I guess what everyone tells you is true.

We are enjoying our first summer, hanging out with dad on his new schedule, spending time in the pool at our friends house, in my sweet hat from Big George and Mallory.

Marty is getting more mobile, he can roll him self from side to side, he has not quite gotten him self all the way over but we can tell it is coming soon.

We have just put together his jumperoo, and he makes some of the funniest faces. As soon as i can figure out how to put a video on here, we can show you.

We can't wait to see everyone!!
XOXOXO

My men!!!!
Daddy got me dressed today and we just had to look alike.

Marty is now 12 weeks old!! We can't believe how fast it has gone. He is now 14 lbs and 23 inches long. He is definitely going to be a lady killer, he flirts with anyone he can get his eyes lock on to. The mornings are my favorite time because he gives away smiles like it is going out of style. Grandma, Grandpa, Great Grandma and Grandpa, Nana and Papa were just here for their monthly Marty fix.

So much has happened in the last month that I would not know were to begin.
First, a congratulations to our friends Manny & Crystal and Brooke & Kyle on starting their lives together. Thank you for letting us be a part of your big days. George looked so handsome in his tux at both weddings I was reminded of the way he looked the day we got married, just a few days over 2 years ago! Wow, it really seems just like yesterday, that I walk down the aisle, but in that same way we have experienced so much since then that it does not seem like only 2 years.

Hopefully now I will be better about posting pictures and keeping everyone updated on Marty and us. We look forward to seeing everyone soon at Marty's second Red Sox Game and at Grandma and Grandpa's.

Love to all

The Nursery is ready and waiting.......

Here are a few pictures to show the evolution of the nursery.....
George spent what felt like all day putting together the dresser and crib. I put together the changing table, it only took me a half hour :)

Here is the finished room!!!! George just put the shelves up yesterday. So now Marty can come any time he wants.

We can't wait to have our little guy here with us. I know it will be a blast. Thank you to all of our friends and family that have supported us through out this pregnancy and we look forward to sharing this adventure with you all.

Keep your bags packed!!!!

XOXOX

Let Me Count the Days

So here I sit on Maternity Leave, just wait for this thing to get underway. We are very excited, but really wish we had a crystal ball that could give us some insight. Oh well maybe I will invent one between now and the birth.

At the last doctors appointment, we found out I was One centimeter dilated and everything is softening as it should. It seems as though the little guy know which way to get out because he is nice and low. The midwife thinks he will be a good solid 7 pounder maybe a low 8 pounder. I am feeling well, I can defiantly feel the baby lower than before and those nice little contractions are super fun :).

We are starting to take guesses for the birth date, time and weight, SOOOOO post your guesses on our comments. It will be cool to see who gets it closest.

We love you all and can't wait to hear from you and give that call......"Its time !!!!!"

XOXOXO

Welcome to 2008

Hello Everyone,

I know that it is only February, but this new year has brought so many changes the rest of the year is bound to be exciting. We have just finished moving, into a bigger place. Now we have room for all of our stuff and a baby and guests. Both of which are coming sooner than it seems. Please email me at gurldawg02@yahoo.com to get the new address and phone number. (I was so bummed when they told us we had to get a new number, I have had the old one since I moved out of the dorms (something like 6 years ago).)
I am 29 weeks along (7 months and 1 week) and that means only 9-11 weeks left. Time flies by, I know I have to tell myself, "Yeah, you that pregnant". I have been feeling well for the last month and a half. And I finally have a belly!!! Be it a little one, but at least I finally look pregnant. We will be having another ultrasound next week so stay tuned for more baby pictures. I am really excited to see how he looks since it has been about 2 months since the last peak.
George is doing well, he has changed stations and is now working on the truck, he is really enjoying it. He has even had a few fires (with flames and everything). He only has a few more months left on his probation. He to is getting excited about the baby's impending arrival, I think he is glad that I am finally showing as well. Now he can show and tell when he brags ;) !

Here are some pics of the baby belly. (You must forgive the crazy hair, it was late!!!)
