Box and Bed

So after weeks of walking in on Marty perched atop his crib rail, ready and waiting to take a head dive, we have decided to make it into a big boy bed! The first nap did not go well at all, Marty has figured out how to open the doors and just came walking out.

So last night we keep him up until he was pass out tired and just held the door after he was in there. No crying or pulling on it. At some point he did get up, but, only to bring his big bouncy ball into bed with him. It was in the room.

Here are a pic of his "new" big boy bed!!

Still working on his fork skills

Busy, Busy!

It seems like we have been so busy this past month. Marty is running around all day, into everything and keeping us on our toes.
He has become interested in daddy's tool, George in stalled a dog door and worked on getting a troublesome fan in our guest bedroom (Thanks Dad for helping out). So, anytime the tools come out Marty is enthralled, wanted to get his hands on everything. Cute, but not so helpful.

He is talking more and more, repeating things that spark any interest. He is also learning to use his spoon, all though it mostly leads to a mess.
He also enjoys hats.

And getting into places he shouldn't be.

We have had the opportunity to go to our local museum for a Bob the Builder interactive display with our friends, the Isch's and their daughter Maddie.

The kids had a blast.
Driving the characters, playing with the magnetic rock wall, the ball water pump, and the drill press.
Marty is getting so big, size 5 shoes and in 18-24 month clothes. Some times he just looks like a little man. I can't get over it.

He is healing well after his surgery and we will head back for his post-op on the 31st.

George is doing well, working, playing and hanging out. Getting over shingles.

I am still working toward my master's degree, and with some luck will have all the road block to that out of the way so that I can complete my thesis. It has been very frustrating but I keep pushing forward.

We love you all and have enjoyed seeing you all or are looking forward to it.

HAPPY 23rd Birthday Uncle NICK !!!!!!!!

Surgery Update

We have been home for a few hours now, Marty has just woken up from his nap and seems to be doing great. It was a very quick procedure and everything went as planned. His doctor said he should be back to normal by this evening at the soonest.
Thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers, I am sure Marty will gladly show you his scar as he is well on his way to mastering diaper removal.

Love to all

We have been so many places and up to so much that I will have to wait until Marty is sleeping to post it all. But in the mean time here is a video of a few of his new tricks.

POOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So to fight off the Fresno heat, we got a pool!!!!!

Oh yeah, it is a 10 foot round , 30 inch deep piece of heaven in our back yard.

Go Dad Go! Go Grandpa Go!

George and Grandpa make quick work of setting it up and in no time Marty was splashing around.

It has just finished filling and we will definetly be make use of this investment.

There are so many great videos from this weekend, like Marty's first corn on the cob, his raspberry fingers and his new word and signs.

Take a look!!

Hats, Fish and Boats

I know it has been forever since our last post. Things are going well. Marty is growing and walking and talking more and more. It is pretty amazing to just sit back and watch him. You can not help but laugh. We loved getting to visit with everyone in So Cal.

Marty got to go to the Aquarium of the Pacific, he really loved getting to see all the fish and birds.

We also got to enjoy spending time with our friends the Casados and the Plumb on their new boat. Marty does not enjoy his life jacket but he did like driving and tubing.
George seemed to enjoy it too. I know the rest of us enjoyed watching.

George is working away, getting some more action now that he is on relief and back in the city.
School is going for me, I only have my thesis to complete and although it has been an uphill battle to get it all started, I am looking forward to getting down to the work and getting it done!

Check out my cool hat!

So tired, yet so hungry!

We love all of you and can't wait to see you again.
XOXO
