Surgery Update

We have been home for a few hours now, Marty has just woken up from his nap and seems to be doing great. It was a very quick procedure and everything went as planned. His doctor said he should be back to normal by this evening at the soonest.
Thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers, I am sure Marty will gladly show you his scar as he is well on his way to mastering diaper removal.

Marty's surgery

Just wanted to let everyone know that Marty's surgery scheduled for 6 am tomorrow morning.
We will keep everyone posted on how he is doing later in the day.

We have been so many places and up to so much that I will have to wait until Marty is sleeping to post it all. But in the mean time here is a video of a few of his new tricks.

So to fight off the Fresno heat, we got a pool!!!!!

Oh yeah, it is a 10 foot round , 30 inch deep piece of heaven in our back yard.

George and Grandpa make quick work of setting it up and in no time Marty was splashing around.

It has just finished filling and we will definetly be make use of this investment.

There are so many great videos from this weekend, like Marty's first corn on the cob, his raspberry fingers and his new word and signs.

Hats, Fish and Boats

I know it has been forever since our last post. Things are going well. Marty is growing and walking and talking more and more. It is pretty amazing to just sit back and watch him. You can not help but laugh. We loved getting to visit with everyone in So Cal.

Marty got to go to the Aquarium of the Pacific, he really loved getting to see all the fish and birds.


We also got to enjoy spending time with our friends the Casados and the Plumb on their new boat. Marty does not enjoy his life jacket but he did like driving and tubing.
George seemed to enjoy it too. I know the rest of us enjoyed watching.


George is working away, getting some more action now that he is on relief and back in the city.
School is going for me, I only have my thesis to complete and although it has been an uphill battle to get it all started, I am looking forward to getting down to the work and getting it done!

Happy Birthday George!!!

This Sunday was George's 26th birthday. Wow is he getting old or what!!! Unfortunately he had to work all weekend but I hear he and the other guys at the station enjoyed his Ice Cream Cake. Grandma and Grandpa Drake were also up this weekend and we had a blast just hanging out with them. Marty loved all the attention and books read over and over and over. Here are a few pics and a video from the weekend.

Funday in the Yard

Wow time has flown it seems. Marty is a full on, I got places to go, walker. It is so cute. It seems like every day he is learning a new word or trick or something. We are enjoying the trials and projects of being home owners. Today George seeded the back yard in an attempt to get some grass or at least limit the amount of dirt Sonya brings in.

We washed cars today as well and Marty was a huge help. Checking to see if the water was soapy enough or if all Daddy's stuff in the garage is up to snuff. There were so many photo ops that it made me want my new camera even more, the shutter speed on the little thing we have just won't cut it. Too long and I miss a smile or funny look or him all together. It will be here soon enough.
