She can't be 10 months already!?!

I can't believe that Michaela is 10 months old already! That means that she while be One in February (Done),  March(1), April(2), AAAHH!!,  2 months.

No it is not possible, she is still my little girl who sits in my lap is almost walking, makes adorable baby noises blows spitty raspberries with the best of them and loves to cuddle tries desperately to get away so she can explore.

Big standing girl!!

Ok so maybe she is not my baby baby anymore but it feels like it has flown by.
And of course that means Marty with be 3!

Because of some great (read: lack of foresight) planning the kids' birthdays are 11 days apart.
So Joint birthdays it is!!!
I have started planning it already as a way to spread out the cost and work load.

We are doing Knights and Princesses! A great boy/girl theme if I say so myself.

I have the invitations done and ready to print.

One of the next things on my list is Party Hats!
I am thinking those cute little princess cone hats. I am planning on using these sweet little ones from Jones Design Company one of the blogs I follow.

Side note: my list of blogs has seriously been getting busy when I'm not looking. It is so long but I love each one.
I am thinking ribbons, glitter, and marabou in sweet little princess colors.
I will also be working on crowns for boys but I haven't figured it out yet.

In the spirit of birthdays to come I have created a necklace that is a perfect gift for the girl who loves to be fancy and dress up.

Made of 3 adorable pom-pom flowers in pinks and white with an polka dot bow, Katie is the perfect accessory for any special occasion.

The pink grosgrain ribbon allows for ease in dress up and comfort in wear.

Thinking of a little Lady in your life who needs this necklace?
It is now available in Kayla's Kloset on Etsy.

Grandparents Weekend!

I love grandparents weekend!!!!

Not only the extra pair of hands, dinners out and the few minutes to myself, but the chance to sleep in until....

....................wait for it..................

8:30

(I know, Lame but hey sleep is sleep).

The kids love it too.

 Watching his new Mighty Machines!!!

Grandpa lets them run crazy all day and Grandma gives them all the sympathy that Mommy just runs out of sometimes.

Although we get a chance to skype (greatest invention by the way) a few time a week, it still can't beat the face to face, hugs, kisses and lovin time.

This time around I also got a few solid crafting hours in during the middle of the day.

And Oh Boy were the scraps flying.

You see my mom is a quilter/sewer/crafter extraordinaire. All my skills come from her and I am jealous of the things she makes. I have no less than three of her quilts in my house and if I could catch her sleeping I would definitely have more.

So when she is here we talk and plan and bounce ideas off of each other.

Things like,  Where can I showcase my talents?
Are their other items out there that fall within my abilities and could I take what I am doing now and translate it into that genre.

With all this in mind I decided to make.......

A little something for Mommy

(Please ignore my roots!! I did not think they were that bad! Yikes!!)
Eleanor

This bib style statement necklace goes great with a simple shirt and pair of don't these make my butt look GOOD jeans or as the finishing touch for a night out with your man!

I love the vintage color combination of Cream, Browns, Pink and Gold along with the something special hint of the pearls and glass beads.

Eleanor is now available at Kayla's Kloset

The Promise of Spring

Sometimes I think February is warm just to tease us and remind us that it is not yet Spring.

The past few weeks have been fog free and gorgeous.

(Sorry to all you stuck in the snow)
I am talking mid to high 60s and not a cloud in the sky.

And it is about time too.

The inside of our house was becoming a crazy mess.

Even the hallway was getting play time.

The natives were getting restless.

Traffic was up 1000%

The Decepticons were attacking

But finally the sun came out and so did we.

Yeah I think there is butt crack.

 Picnic Lunches

And the Promise of Spring. Hope of flowers and new discoveries.

George was doing some lawn work and found my Princess Lily that my parents gave me after Michaela was born. We thought it had died but it has come back for the spring.

All this warm weather has inspired me to create some new headbands, now available at Kayla's Kloset

This fun and funky flower brings together fuchsia satin, organza and rhinestones on a white grosgrain ribbon headband, making the perfect pop for any outfit,

Charlotte is the perfect combination of elegance and whimsy. With plenty of soft pink petals, gray iridescent beads and pewter leaves, this adorable headband makes any day a special occasion.
